1,500 NIR cops secure Araw ng Kagitingan

BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) is deploying 1,500 police officers to secure Araw ng Kagitingan in Negros Island on Thursday, April 9.
Police Lt. Col. Joem Malong, PRO-NIR spokesperson, said they will be stationed in major roads, transport terminals, public spaces, venues for commemorative events, checkpoints, and border control points.
Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) teams and the Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) will be on standby for emergencies.
Drone operators will be deployed to provide aerial surveillance and real-time monitoring.
Authorities urged the public to stay alert, cooperate with law enforcement, and report any suspicious activities immediately.
