CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office-Calabarzon sanctioned 72 policemen for various administrative offenses from January to March.
Police Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan, PRO 4-A director, said 15 were dismissed, three were demoted, 35 were suspended, and 19 were reprimanded.
On the other hand, 287,951 awards and commendations were conferred on PRO 4-A personnel from January to March under the Morale and Welfare Awards System for their dedication, professionalism, and exemplary performance.
Meanwhile, Batangas police director Police Col. Marlon Rufo was relieved after a lady police officer filed a complaint before the National Police Commission for grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer. Police Col. Meliton Salvadora replaced Rufo.
Marantan assured a fair investigation of the case based on existing laws and institutional guidelines.

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A 57-year-old woman was gunned down allegedly due to personal grudge on Tuesday afternoon, April 7, at Purok 1, Barangay Bocohan, this city.
Police identified the victim as Eva.
The suspect, Marlon, fled and the subject of a manhunt. He faces a murder charge.
In Atimonan, Quezon, two linemen of an electric cooperative were killed in a multiple collision on the Diversion Road in Barangay Santa Catalina on Tuesday afternoon.
Police identified the victims as Gilbert, 49, and Nicmar, 24.
Investigation said an Isuzu truck lost its brakes and collided with the tricycle of the victims. The truck rammed three other vehicles.
The truck driver was injured and taken a hospital in Atimonan. He faces appropriate cases.
