CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police Regional Office 4-A Director Police Brig. Gen. Hansel M. Marantan has ordered a thorough investigation on the administrative complaint filed by a policewoman before the National Police Commission against the Batangas police chief on Tuesday, April 7.
Marantan reaffirmed the Philippine National Police’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and due process and ensured that the matter was referred to proper authorities, including Napolcom, which now has jurisdiction over the case.
He said that he reached out to the complainant who filed charges of alleged unwelcome physical contact and inappropriate remarks to assure her that her concerns would be addressed with fairness, sensitivity, and in accordance with established procedures.
Marantan said as part of standard administrative protocol, the officer concerned was placed under appropriate status pending the outcome of the investigation to preserve the integrity of the process and to ensure that all parties are treated justly.
Napolcom assured that the complaint will undergo proper administrative proceedings and will be handled with urgency, impartiality, and full respect for due process, particularly in cases involving women in uniform.
Marantan underscored that all actions taken by the police are guided by existing laws and institutional protocols and any determination of liability will be based strictly on facts and evidence.
“Allegations involving abuse of authority or disrespect, particularly toward women, are taken seriously,” he said. “At the same time, we remain bound to uphold the rule of law and the rights of all parties through due process.”
He called on the public to allow the investigative process to proceed without undue pressure and assured that the PNP and Napolcom are committed to accountability, fairness, and the highest standards of integrity in the police service.
