CALATAGAN, Batangas – A pawnshop here was robbed of an estimated P4-million worth of jewelry.
An employee discovered the robbery on Monday morning, April 6, when she reported for work.
She noticed dirt on a table and the cemented floor was dug up and the vault forcibly opened.
Pawned jewelry with an estimated value of P4 million was missing from the vault.
Police said that the suspects gained entry by excavating and passing through a canal.
Meanwhile, a man was allegedly stabbed to death by two brothers in Calauan, Laguna on Monday.
Police identified the victims as Jerry.
Investigation said that the victim was walking on NHA Site 3 when the suspects Marlon and Ranione appeared and chased him. The suspects caught up with the victim and Marlon stabbed and Ranione struck him with a metal pipe.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead. The suspects fled.
Investigation said the victim had a long-standing dispute with the suspects and was allegedly provoking them into fighting him and threatened to kill them. The victim was also allegedly throwing objects at the suspects' house.
In San Andres, Quezon, a 46-year-old man was killed and his 46-year-old wife was wounded by two men riding a motorcycle on Monday afternoon in Sitio Dao, Barangay Talisay.
The fatality was identified as Jerry and the wounded as Baby, both residents of Barangay Pagsangahan, San Francisco, Quezon.
The victims were riding a motorcycle on their way to the town proper when they were shot. The suspects also fled.
Police are investigating all three incidents and filing appropriate cases.
