Mitsubishi to bring hybrid, electric vehicle production in PH—Marcos

President Marcos announced that automotive manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors has set its sights on bringing hybrid and electric vehicle production to the country.
The President bared this after holding a meeting with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines and global CEO Takao Kato at the Malacañan Palace on Monday, April 6.
According to Malacañang, the meeting between Marcos and Mitsubishi officials focused on plans to develop the production of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) under the Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS) program.
"Met with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines and global CEO Takao Kato to bring hybrid and electric vehicle production closer to home," Marcos said in a social media post.
Marcos further said that the development reflects the company's "strong confidence in our economy." He also expressed confidence that the investment would boost employment and reduce the country's dependence to fuel.
"Their continued investment reflects strong confidence in our economy. More jobs, less dependence on fuel, lower costs for drivers and more options for every Filipino," the Chief Executive said.
Aside from the agenda on the hybrid and electric vehicle production,
no further details about the meeting were disclosed.
