Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez announced that the city’s own sports coliseum will soon open, providing a dedicated venue for local athletes and major events.
Olivarez said the facility, to be called the Parañaque City Coliseum, will serve as the official home court of the city’s men and women basketball teams, volleyball squad, and other indoor sports such as badminton, lawn tennis, and table tennis.
The modern sporting and events arena is located beside Parañaque City College on Coastal Road in Barangay San Dionisio.
According to the mayor, the coliseum has a seating capacity of about 3,500 and is designed not only for sports competitions but also for hosting activities and other events in the National Capital Region.
He added that the venue will also be suitable for graduation ceremonies, barangay gatherings, beauty pageants, and various city programs.
Olivarez said the opening of the coliseum underscores the city government’s commitment to promoting sports development and providing a multi-purpose facility for the community.
