Holy Week in Ilocos peaceful – cops

The Police Regional Office-1 reported a peaceful observance of Holy Week in the Ilocos region.

Police Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes, PRO-1 director, credited this to the strategic deployment of police personnel in churches, residential communities, transport terminals, highways, and key tourist destinations.

“We sincerely thank the public for their vigilance and discipline,” Reyes said.

He also thanked local government units and partner-agencies for helping maintain peace and order during the week-long observance.

Reyes said traffic flow in the region remained efficient amid the return of people due to proactive traffic management and close coordination between the Philippine National Police and advocacy groups.

PRO-1 remains on heightened operational readiness as the summer vacation continues and will sustain intensified anti-criminality campaigns and road safety monitoring to preserve the peace and order achieved during Holy Week, Reyes added.
