DSWD activates 146 payout sites for cash aid distribution to tricycle drivers nationwide

Tricycle drivers outside Metro Manila will start receiving cash assistance beginning Wednesday, April 8, as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) activates 146 payout sites in 121 cities nationwide.
The payout centers, identified by DSWD Field Offices in coordination with local government units (LGUs), are expected to serve more than 328,000 beneficiaries under the expanded cash assistance program.
“As promised by the Secretary of the DSWD, Secretary Rex Gatchalian, and in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Department will begin distributing cash assistance to tricycle drivers outside Metro Manila,” DSWD Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Irene Dumlao said on Tuesday, April 7.
Each qualified beneficiary will receive ₱5,000 to help cushion the impact of rising fuel prices amid global geopolitical tensions.
Claimants are required to present their original driver’s license and one photocopy during the payout.
DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian is set to oversee selected payout operations in Luzon, particularly in Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon, as part of monitoring efforts to ensure orderly implementation.
His site visits will include the Cabanatuan Convention Center in Nueva Ecija; the Agdao Evacuation Center in San Carlos, Pangasinan; the City Sports Complex in Angeles City, Pampanga; and the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
During the rollout, Gatchalian is also expected to meet repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families receiving psychosocial support and livelihood assistance from the department.
