BACOLOD CITY – A Baptist church pastor was found dead with multiple bullet wounds in Barangay Lumbia, Cauayan, Negros Occidental on Maundy Thursday, April 2.
Family, friends, and Baptist church members have sought justice for Pastor Julito Fundador Jr.
“Justice for my uncle. Whoever did this to him, you won't be able to sleep on your conscience. The Lord knows what you did to him,” a relative said. “Lord, we entrust this to You, for us to get justice for my uncle.”
The victim’s cousin also mourned his death and recalled memories together. Church members shared their grief on social media.
Police Lt. Col. Norberto Barniso, Cauayan police chief, said the victim was found with bullet wounds in the head and neck. He also had markings on both hands, an indication that he was tied and dragged to the crime scene. Recovered from the crime scene was a spent shell of a .45 caliber.
Barniso said the victim came from the house of a member to discuss their service for Good Friday before he was found.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and appealed to people with information to get in touch with them.
Possible motives of the killing, police said, are business and his work as a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit. He worked as a security guard in Cebu and had no criminal record.
