2 men arrested after viral robbery of female rider in Tondo traffic
Two suspects were arrested just hours after a viral video showed a female rider being robbed at knifepoint while stuck in traffic in Tondo, Manila.
Operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 1 conducted follow-up operations that led to the arrest of Moises Alpero, alias “Moymoy,” 26, and Marlon Cabigting, alias “Sagiab,” 37, both residents of Barangay 123, Tondo.
The suspects were presented during the “Talk to the People” program, where Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso confirmed their arrest shortly after the incident.
The robbery, which circulated widely online, occurred at around 3 a.m. on April 6 along Road 10 near Pier 6.
Still visibly shaken, Lopez faced the suspects during the presentation and positively identified them as the same individuals who threatened to stab her during the holdup.
Mayor Domagoso urged the complainant to pursue charges against the suspects to ensure they are held accountable and to prevent further incidents.
