Vertiv doubles down on PH market focus with new country head

AI has been all over the news of late, so it’s not surprising that stories about data centers (which power AI) would also start appearing on our feeds. Data centers are facilities that house computer systems. Think of those server rooms that Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt would break into in Mission Impossible films. So imagine my surprise when I found out that Vertiv, which provides infrastructure and services for data centers, has an office here in Manila.
Last March 25, 2026, Vertiv announced the appointment of Nico Enchavarria as director, sales management and country head for the Philippines market. He will be responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive sales strategy for the Philippines, ensuring that it is also aligned with Vertiv’s regional and global priorities.
Echavarria’s appointment signals a stronger focus on deepening ties with customers and partners across industries that keep the country running—from BPOs and banks to healthcare, government, telecom, and enterprise.
His role is clear – to help organizations navigate the rising demands of AI and compute–heavy environments with infrastructure that can keep pace with rising demands.

Echavarria isn’t stepping into this challenge empty-handed, though. With years of experience in energy management and mission-critical solutions, he has a keen understanding of how to design and operate systems that are reliable, scalable, and sustainable. With sustainability also an important factor for consumers and the company.
His leadership is expected to reinforce Vertiv’s efforts to help Philippine businesses build resilience and meet the growing need for capacity and efficiency as digital infrastructure becomes the backbone of both commerce and public service.

Vertiv’s Manila hub supports operations from other data centers and also houses its Vertiv Academy, which trains the next generation of the AI workforce. The Philippines continues to see strong growth across sectors that rely on always-on digital and physical infrastructure. Converge ICT spent nearly ₱5 billion to build its data center in Pampanga.
