The 30-year-old fighter looked a lot more comfortable in the new weight class and was packing a more explosive punch — highlighted by a huge combination that rocked McRory.
Magsayo then staggered McRory with a vicious left to the body before unloading a booming right hook that sent the Irish backwards and struggling with his balance.
Smelling blood in the water, the Filipino tried to end the fight right there and there but McRory managed to survive until the next bell.
He, however, made sure to pick up from where he left off and caught McRory on a hard counter, convincing his opponent’s corner to throw in the towel.
Magsayo, a former super featherweight, improved to a 29-2 record with 19 knockouts as he looks to position himself for a title shot.
McRory, on the other hand, absorbed his second defeat in 19 fights.
