CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 said the Holy Week was generally peaceful in the Caraga region.
“Thank God that no untoward incidents happened during the Holy Week in Caraga,” PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office (RPIO) chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said Monday.
The PRO-13 led by Police Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV thanked the people for cooperating with the police for a peaceful Holy Week.
Magistrado inspected Barangay Anticala here for “Panaad 2026” attended by 12,000 devotees on Good Friday. He was accompanied by officers of PRO-13 and Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) chief Police Col. Restituto P. Lacano Jr.
Lacano said no untoward incidents occurred during Panaad, except for people who fainted due to extreme heat and the crowd. They were promptly given medical assistance.
“The command and action center of PRO-13 did not monitor any significant or serious incident that threatened general peace and order and internal security as of 6 a.m. on Monday,” Ometer said.
The PRO-13 has embarked on a 90-day summer security and public safety plan starting graduation week in March through the Holy Week onwards to the Flores de Mayo and fiesta season in May until the opening of classes in June.
