TACLOBAN CITY – The Holy Week was generally peaceful in Eastern Visayas, the Police Regional Office-8 said.
The PRO-8 recorded a total of eight focus crimes from March 29 to April 5 and these were quickly responded and handled appropriately.
Police Brig. Gen. Jayson Capoy, PRO-8 chief,
attributed the peaceful observance of the Holy Week to intensified security operations that ensured the safety of thousands of devotees participating in religious activities, including church services, processions, and visits to pilgrimage sites.Capoy praised the public for their cooperation and discipline.
“The peaceful observance of Holy Week reflects the strong cooperation between our communities and the police. We thank the public for their discipline and support, which greatly contributed to maintaining peace and order across Eastern Visayas,” he said.
