Well-loved stand-up comedian and impersonator Michelle O’Bombshell, real name Roderic Cuntapay, has passed away.
Widely known for his iconic impersonation of former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama, his death was confirmed on Monday, April 6, by friends and colleagues in the comedy community.
As of writing, the cause of death has not been disclosed.
Tributes from fellow performers as seen on social media, underscore the depth of his impact in the industry.
Singer-comedienne Tuesday Vargas shared a heartfelt message via social media:
“Para sa iba ikaw si Michelle. Pero para sa akin ikaw ang nag iisang Ador ng buhay ko. Nung isang araw lang ay naalala kita tapos nagising ako ngayon sa balitang ito. You will be missed Ador.”
Comedian John Lapus expressed his grief in a brief but emotional tribute:
“Nak Michelle O'Bombshell mahal ka ng Mama.”
Fellow performer Atak Arana recalled their long history together and the admiration he had for Michelle’s talent and energy:
