Following the success of its inaugural staging in Subic, the women-centered “Let’s Golf Siz” tournament returns on April 15, bringing together golf, camaraderie, and lifestyle in a unique Golf and Wine format aimed at encouraging more female participation in the sport.
The one-day event will feature a mix of friendly competition and social engagement, with participants set to gather for registration at 9:30 a.m. before teeing off at 11 a.m. in sequential order.
The tournament is open to both members and non-members, with registration fees set at P4,500 for members and P9,500 for non-members. The package includes green fees, shared cart use, cocktails, dinner, and access to raffle prizes and tournament giveaways.
Participants are encouraged to wear pink or shades of pink in line with the event’s Women’s Month celebration theme. Special prizes will also be awarded to guests sporting apparel from the sportswear brand Puma.
The event is part of a broader initiative to grow women’s golf in the country by creating a welcoming and empowering environment for players of all skill levels—from beginners taking their first swings to seasoned competitors.
“Let’s Golf Siz” underscores the increasing visibility of women in Philippine golf, as more female players take to the fairways not only for competition but also for community-building and personal development.
The first edition of the tournament, held in March at Subic International Golf Club, drew a strong field of participants and highlighted emerging talents in the local scene.
Among those who topped their respective divisions were Mavis Espendido, Cathrnia Smulders, Kristyana Herrera, and Isabel Garcia, whose performances set the tone for what organizers hope will become a regular fixture in the women’s amateur golf calendar.
Organizers expressed optimism that the upcoming tournament will attract an even larger field, reinforcing their advocacy of promoting inclusivity and strengthening the presence of women in the sport.
“With more events like this, we hope to see more women picking up the game, supporting each other, and ultimately raising the level of women’s golf in the Philippines,” said organizer Ynnah Barreto.
