Father stabs wife dead, son hurt amid financial woes in Rizal

A father allegedly struggling with financial problems stabbed his wife to death and injured his 15-year-old son inside their home in Angono, Rizal on Black Saturday, April 4.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) said the incident occurred inside the victims’ residence in Barangay Parang at around 8:51 a.m.

Rizal PPO director Col. Eleazar R. Barber Jr., in coordination with the Angono MPS, led authorities in responding to the report of the incident.

They found the lifeless body of the suspect’s wife inside the house, while the suspect, who reportedly also tried to kill himself, was found inside the bathroom, still breathing. He was immediately transported to the hospital with medical personnel on board.

Authorities said the suspect, who, according to his family, is suffering from financial difficulties, reportedly stabbed both victims. They added that his other 12-year-old child remained unharmed.

Authorities said they are preparing documents to file charges of parricide, frustrated parricide, and attempted parricide against the suspect.
