Easter a reminder that hope overcomes darkness—Marcos
President Marcos has reminded Filipinos that hope and faith will always prevail over hardship, as he joined the nation in celebrating Easter Sunday.
In a Facebook post on April 5, the President emphasized that Easter highlights the enduring power of hope, even in the most difficult times.
“Today, we celebrate the triumph of life over death,” he said.
“The Resurrection reminds us that no darkness lasts forever, and that faith leads us back to the light,” he said.
Marcos called on Filipinos to embrace the deeper meaning of the occasion.
“May this Easter renew in us a deeper sense of peace, compassion, and unity,” he said.
In an earlier message, President Marcos said Easter represents the culmination of Holy Week and the fulfillment of Christ’s promise of salvation.
He noted that the Resurrection affirms that “sacrifice is never in vain” and that suffering leads to renewal.
The President had likewise said Easter offers assurance that God’s grace endures even during challenges.
He stressed that faith can lead Filipinos “back to the light” despite hardships.
Marcos urged the public to translate faith into action through kindness and compassion.
He said choosing compassion over indifference and unity over division helps strengthen the nation.
