Vendor stabs buddy in front of Tondo Church on Good Friday
An argument over their stores' locations led a 57-year-old vendor to stab his fellow vendor with a box cutter in front of Tondo Church on Chacon Street in Tondo, Manila, on Friday, April 3.
According to the Manila Police District (MPD), the suspect, identified as alias "Rey," and the 34-year-old victim, alias "Jestone," initially engaged in a verbal confrontation over where they would set up their respective shops.
The altercation escalated into into a fistfight, prompting Rey to pull out a box cutter and stab Jestone in the right arm and chest. After the attack, Rey immediately fled the scene.
Jestone was rushed to Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center and is now in stable condition.
Police immediately launch a manhunt, leading to the arrest of Rey inside a barangay hall in Tondo.
He will be charged with frustrated homicide, the MPD said.
