BACOLOD CITY – Four persons, including two suspected gun-for-hire, were arrested in Purok Gonzaga, Barangay Taculing here on Friday, April 3, for allegedly killing a police asset on Thursday, April 2.
Police identified the suspects as Tony, 42, of Barangay Bata here, and Win, 39, of Barangay Vista Alegre, this city. Tony and Win were a high-value individual (HVI) and a street-level individual in the illegal drugs trade and alleged hitmen.
Police Capt. Rosalino Pugoy Jr., commander of Police Station 3, said the suspects were tracked in their hideout through intelligence monitoring, less than 24 hours after a 29-year-old woman was gunned down in Purok Maabi-abihon, Barangay Banago here on Thursday night, April 2.
Police said that the victim Bebe was targeted for being an alleged police asset.
Tony and Win had been arrested before for a drug offense, the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said.
Also apprehended were No, 54, and Jov, 39, a construction worker, residents of Barangay Taculing and street-level individuals.
Police said that No was also formerly jailed for a drug offense.
Recovered from the suspects were 60 grams of suspected shabu valued at P408,800; guns, bullets, and P350.
The PRO-NIR commended the Bacolod City Police Office for the immediate resolution of the case.
