“We are heartbroken to share that Misua, a talented queen set to appear on season four of Drag Race Philippines, passed away in her sleep on the morning of April 2,” the company said in a statement. “She brought light, artistry, and joy to those around her, and she will be deeply missed.”
Currently, the filming of “Drag Race Philippines” season 4 has been paused to care for and support the cast and crew during this incredibly difficult time.
Born in 1998, Misua, also known as Jason Elvie Ty, was a drag artist from Cagayan de Oro (CDO) and a member of the Haus of LaFeya.
Tributes have poured in on social media from local and international drag artists and personalities associated with “Drag Race Philippines.”
Filipino drag artist Hanna Beshie posted: “Your time in this world may have been short, but I will make sure that your name and artistry live on. I love you so much, my oriental fashion doll.”
“Forever a star, shining bright in our hearts. Sending our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones,” Drag Race Philippines judge KaladKaren commented.
Rest in power, Misua!
