President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (Mark Balmores)
President Marcos joined the Filipino faithful in observing Maundy Thursday, reminding them of the importance of selfless service.
In a Facebook post on April 2, Marcos highlighted that leadership begins with service.
"On this Holy Thursday, we are reminded that leadership begins with service. Caring for others and putting their needs before our own," he said.
The President also encouraged the faithful to carry such values "in all that we do."
"May we carry this spirit with us in all that we do," he said. "A blessed and meaningful Holy Thursday to all."
Marcos earlier disclosed that he would spend Holy Week in Ilocos Norte with his family, and return to Manila by the weekend.
In his Holy Week message, the Chief Executive called on Filipinos to strengthen national unity through faith and selfless service, saying, "May this Holy Week strengthen our resolve to become a nation guided by faith, united in purpose, and inspired by selfless service."
