Former Muntinlupa councilor Allan Rey Camilon was killed in a plane crash in Palawan on April 2. He was 49.
Camilon and Joseph Jiao were the pilots of a plane that crashed in Barangay Decalacho, Coron, Palawan. It was headed to Sangley Airport.
His wife, Muntinlupa Councilor Amanda Camilon, confirmed the news.
"It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Allan Camilon. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, friend, and colleague to many," she said.
Born in 1976, Camilon served for many terms as a councilor. He served as chairman of the Committee on Health and Sanitation, and vice chairman of the Committee on Rules, Ethics and Privileges, and Committee on Youth and Sports Development.
He graduated with a degree in management with a marketing major from San Beda College of Alabang.
Camilon also had a private pilot license and commercial pilot license basic instrument rating from the Omni Aviation Corporation and Airworks Aviation Academy.
Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon condoled with the Camilon family.
“Lubos akong nakikiramay kay Konsi Amanda Camilon, sa kanilang pamilya, at sa mga mahal sa buhay sa pagpanaw ni dating Konsehal Allan Camilon. Isa sa mga matuturing nating lingkod bayang nag-alay nang mahabang panahon para sa kapakanan ng Muntinlupa (My deepest condolences to Councilor Amanda Camilon, their family, and loved ones on the passing of former Councilor Allan Camilon. One of our most respected public servants who dedicated a long time to the welfare of Muntinlupa),” said the mayor.
He added, “Sa panahon na nakasama natin siya sa public service, nakita ko ang malasakit at dedikasyon ni Konsi Allan sa ating mga kababayan. Malaking kawalan ang kanyang pagpanaw, hindi lamang sa kanyang pamilya kundi sa buong Muntinlupa na kanyang pinagsilbihan. Rest in peace, Konsi Allan. Maraming salamat sa iyong serbisyo (During the time we spent with him in public service, I saw Konsi Allan's concern and dedication to our fellow citizens. His passing is a great loss, not only to his family but to the entire Muntinlupa that he served. Rest in peace, Konsi Allan. Thank you very much for your service).”
