P500,000 worth of jewelry stolen in Rodriguez, Rizal robbery
Police arrested a 25-year-old man for robbing a jewelry repair shop in Barangay Manggahan, Rodriguez, Rizal, stealing P500,000 worth of jewelry and other precious metals, the Rodriguez Rizal Municipal Police said on Tuesday, March 31.
The suspect was identified as alias "John," hailing from San Mateo, Rizal.
The police said the robbery took place last March 29 along J.P. Rizal Street, wherein the shop owner discovered that the suspect destroyed the roof and ceiling of the establishment to gain entry and took P500,000 worth of jewelry, including scrap gold and silver materials.
The owner quickly reported the incident to the police, and with the help of the CCTV system installed in the store, John was positively identified as the perpetrator.
He was subsequently arrested in Barangay Geronimo, Rodriguez, Rizal.
The suspect will be charged with robbery, the police said.
