P234-M illegal drugs seized in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) seized illegal drugs worth P234.7 million from March 1 to 31 in the region.

The PRO-CAR said 36 drug personalities were arrested – 27 street-level individuals and nine high-value individuals – in 126 marijuana eradication, 18 buy-bust operations, six search warrants, three police responses, one service of warrant of arrest, and one checkpoint operations.

Recovered were 74.05 grams of shabu, 555,470 fully grown marijuana plants, 756,705 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, 264, 900 grams of dried marijuana stalks, 11,920 marijuana seedlings, and seven milliliters of liquid shabu with an overall Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P234,710,793.20.

The PRO-CAR said these accomplishments highlight their steadfast dedication to eradicating illegal drugs and safeguarding the community.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera on Wednesday conducted a drug test on 80 drivers and conductors in main terminals here on Wednesday.

Tests yielded negative results. PDEA narcotic detection dogs inspected passengers' baggage and bus compartments to ensure no illegal substances were being transported.

Department of Transportation and Highway Patrol Group personnel conducted thorough document verification and checked the roadworthiness of public transportation vehicles to guarantee passenger safety.
