A total of 69 policemen assigned in Metro Manila were dismissed from the service while more than 100 more were penalized in the first quarter of 2026 as the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) further intensified the internal cleansing.
NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said the administrative actions taken against erring personnel reflect a continuing effort to enforce accountability across all ranks.
“This reflects the broader direction of the PNP that intensified and sustained internal cleansing remains a central pillar in advancing professionalism within the police service,” said Aberin.
Aside from the 69 dismissed, he said six more policemen were demoted while 92 others were suspended.
In addition, 10 policemen were meted the penalty of salary forfeiture while 12 others were reprimanded.
“The NCRPO continues to reinforce mechanisms that promote transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct, ensuring that only those who adhere to the highest standards remain in service,” said Aberin.
“These efforts form part of a broader commitment to deliver police service that is swift, responsive, and grounded in integrity,” he added.
