The Federation of Filipino‑Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) and the Angelo King Foundation, Inc. (AKFI) have launched the Exemplar City Mayor Award 2026, a nationwide search recognizing mayors who demonstrate transformative leadership and good governance.

The ceremony at the Federation Center in Manila was led by FFCCCII President Victor Lim, First Vice-President William Gosiaco, Honorary President Tan Ching, Executive Vice-President Jeffrey Ng, and AKFI President Teddy Kingsu and Chairman Ernesto Garilao, along with FFCCCII Secretary General Dr. Fernando Gan and AKFI Director Joaquin Sy. The award honors city mayors whose administrations promote transparency, financial accountability, economic resilience, and inclusive growth.

Eligible nominees must be current mayors with at least three consecutive years in office.
Candidates will be evaluated based on their performance from 2019 to 2024 using a weighted scoring system: integrity of governance and capacity to prevent graft and corruption (40 percent), financial governance (20 percent), business-friendliness and competitiveness (20 percent), and human development (20 percent).

Nominations opened on March 17 and will run until April 30, 2026, through local chambers or FFCCCII regional boards.

The winners will be announced in June 2026.

Founded in 1954, FFCCCII supports economic growth and social welfare, while AKFI champions community development and good governance initiatives.

FFCCCII said the award aims to highlight mayors whose leadership delivers real impact for their constituents.
