BACOLOD CITY – A heavy equipment driver was allegedly gunned down by a fruit vendor during a heated argument in Barangay 33 here on Tuesday, March 31.
Police identified the victim as Joevic, a resident of Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Police Capt. Peter John Ramos, commander of Police Station 6, said the victim was drinking coffee in a store when suspect complained over stolen fruits and a battery.
Joevic reportedly responded in a manner that angered the suspect who mauled the victim before shooting him and fleeing the scene.
The victim sustained three bullet wounds and was taken to a hospital where he died.
Police said that the victim’s family intends to press charges. The suspect remains at large.
