Converge increases speed at no cost to offset rising fuel prices

Telecommunications provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. is boosting the speed of its flagship internet plan by up to 50 megabits per second (Mbps) in response to growing demand for faster connectivity, as work-from-home schemes gain popularity due to rising fuel prices.
Converge is increasing the broadband speed of its FiberX plans beginning Wednesday, April 1, for both existing and new subscribers.
The speed boost will be provided until the end of the month at no additional cost to subscribers.
In response to the government’s call to ease the burden of the ongoing fuel crisis on consumers, Converge chief executive officer (CEO) Dennis Anthony Uy said the company is stepping in to enable faster and more reliable internet speeds.
“By boosting internet speeds, we are ensuring that our customers can continue to work, study, run businesses, and stay connected with loved ones without disruption. The faster speeds allow smoother video calls, faster downloads, and improved streaming quality,” Uy said.
“We are also strengthening digital access as customers can access telehealth services, e-commerce platforms, digital banking, and government services more seamlessly with the speed boost,” he added.
Uy said delivering faster connectivity comes at a crucial time, as more Filipinos choose to work from home while high fuel prices affect commuting and household budgets.
He noted that this builds on the company’s commitment to leave no Filipino behind, especially during times of economic and social challenges.
Last month, Converge retained its title as the fastest fixed network in the Philippines after recording a speed score of 61.12, according to internet speed analyst Ookla.
The telco was also recognized for having the best fixed network and video experience, as well as the lowest latency among internet providers in the country.
“From the beginning, Converge committed to building infrastructure that would serve the country for the long term. We said that we will leave no one behind. And we have been working non-stop to deliver on that promise,” said Uy.
