ILOILO CITY – A total of 3,674 policemen and law enforcement personnel were deployed to secure the Holy Week in Western Visayas.
The Police Regional Office-6 led by Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan has ordered the strict implementation of all security and public safety measures.
“As we observe this sacred season, PRO-6 remains fully committed to safeguarding our communities. We have deployed sufficient personnel and resources to ensure the safety of everyone,” said Ligan in a statement.
A total of 2,426 police officers were deployed in key areas of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces – churches, pilgrimage sites, transportation terminals, seaports, airports, and tourist destinations – as well as the capital city of Iloilo.
They are supported by 157 personnel from other law enforcement agencies and local government units as well as 1,091 force multipliers.
Police reminded the people to secure their homes before leaving and be vigilant in public.
