LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Eighteen people were injured in a collision between a bus and truck in Zone 3, Barangay Tambo, Pamplona, Camarines Sur on Wednesday, April 1.
Police Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office-5, said that the bus was on its way from Naga City to Camarines Norte when the oncoming truck allegedly encroached and rammed the bus on the opposite lane.
The bus driver, Joseph Oring Bautista, 50, was unharmed. However, the truck driver, Edmon Dula Lipatan, 40, sustained serious injuries.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Pamplona rescued the two drivers and the injured were taken to the Bicol Medical Center in Naga City.
The youngest injured was a seven-month-old baby and the oldest was 74.
Authorities are conducting follow-up investigation.
