The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) capped the National Women’s Month with a ceremony recognizing the vital role of women in law enforcement on Tuesday, March 31.
It also introduced initiatives to help their families.
The culminating activity gathered officers and local officials, with Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte as the guest of honor and speaker.
“Proud ako na aktibo ang QCPD sa pakikibahagi sa ating pangako na kasama ang kababaihan sa pag-unlad. You have been strong allies in our work to address gender-based violence (I am proud that QCPD is actively engaged in our commitment to include women in development. You have been strong allies in our work to address gender-based violence),” she said.
She also lauded the district’s ongoing gender-sensitivity training and its efforts to raise awareness of women’s rights in communities.
“Ang impact ng inyong paglilingkod ay nakikita sa bawat biktima na nagkakaroon ng lakas ng loob dahil mas panatag silang magkwento sa inyo (The impact of your service is visible in every victim who gains courage because they feel more confident in telling you their story),” the mayor added.
The QCPD awarded outstanding female police personnel for their exemplary service, leadership, and commitment to community safety.
It also introduced two new programs designed to support women and their families further.
The “Kabuhayan ni Misis” initiative focuses on providing livelihood opportunities and skills training for police spouses, helping boost household income through home-based enterprises.
Meanwhile, the QCPD Policewomen for Road Safety, Integrity, Discipline, and Enforcement (PRIDE) program aims to strengthen the role of female officers in traffic management and public safety efforts across the city.
The initiative also highlights professionalism and leadership among policewomen.
The event forms part of the nationwide celebration of National Women’s Month, reinforcing the commitment of law enforcement agencies to inclusivity, gender equality, and community-centered service.
