The Pasay City government has raised its Blue Alert status as part of heightened preparations for the Holy Week observance, ensuring that all emergency response units are on standby.
The alert, declared by the Pasay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PCDRRMC), will be in effect from March 31 to April 7, 2026.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the move reflects an increased level of readiness across the city, with authorities closely monitoring potential risks and incidents during the Semana Santa period.
The city has activated its Virtual Emergency Operations Center, while its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been placed on a 24/7 operation to ensure immediate response.
Rubiano emphasized that these proactive measures aim to safeguard the public, especially as thousands of devotees are expected to participate in religious activities throughout the city.
She added that emergency response teams, including rescue units and support personnel, have been placed on full alert to promptly address any situation that may arise.
Residents are also encouraged to remain vigilant, observe safety protocols, and coordinate with local authorities in case of emergencies during the Holy Week.
