A motorcycle rider was killed early Tuesday morning, March 31, after reportedly losing control of his vehicle along the northbound lane of Juan Luna Street in Tondo, Manila.
The incident occurred around 5:27 a.m. as the victim was heading toward Caloocan City.
The Manila Traffic Enforcement Unit said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Based on CCTV footage reviewed by authorities, the motorcycle appeared to have swerved before the rider lost control and crashed.
Investigators noted that there was no contact with any other vehicle, and the rider sustained a fatal head impact after being thrown off the motorcycle. He died on the spot.
The rider was identified as a male resident of Barangay 32 in Caloocan City, though his name has yet to be released pending notification of his family.
The Manila Traffic Enforcement Unit is continuing its investigation and coordinating with the victim’s relatives for further details.
