President Marcos said he will be in Ilocos Norte for the Holy Week.
He will, however, be back in Manila by the weekend.
"Holy week, I will spend a few days in Ilocos Norte and I will be back in Manila by the weekend," Marcos said in an interview on the sidelines of the opening of a new segment of the Central Luzon Link Expressway in Nueva Ecija on Tuesday, March 31.
The President did not disclose further plans for the Holy Week.
However, in a Palace briefing, Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire said the President will not be in his hometown for a vacation. He will only spend the Holy Week with his family.
For the President, the word “vacation” is not really part of his vocabulary. As he said, he will spend his Holy Week in Ilocos Norte with his family)," Castro said.
But it’s not a vacation, because the President will continue monitoring the situation and issuing instructions on what needs to be done by our government agencies)," Castro added.
The Palace official also said that they are not given the specific time or day the President will leave for Ilocos Norte.
