In observance of Semana Santa 2026, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Las Piñas City intensified its safety and fire prevention measures to ensure the protection of devotees during the Holy Week.
As thousands of the faithful are expected to flock to churches for prayer, reflection, and traditional rites, fire authorities ramped up their visibility and preparedness to prevent any untoward incidents, emphasizing vigilance amid the surge of pilgrims.
Under the leadership of Josephus F. Alburo, City Fire Marshal, personnel from the 136 Base – Bamboo Organ Fire Station, conducted strategic operational deployment at St. Joseph Parish Church.
Fire personnel were stationed in key areas around the church along Diego Cera Avenue, Barangay Daniel Fajardo, to ensure immediate emergency response, conduct fire safety monitoring, and assist in maintaining an orderly environment for the influx of churchgoers and visitors.
Authorities said the proactive deployment aims to minimize fire risks and enhance public safety during one of the most significant religious observances in the country.
The initiative highlights the Las Piñas City Fire Station’s continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property, especially during large-scale gatherings such as the Holy Week, Alburo said.
