ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) will implement water rationing beginning Thursday, April 2, at the east coast and some parts of the central areas.
The measure was made after intermittent rains over the past days failed to normalize water levels at the Pasonanca Dam. Water levels were reported at 74.08, .12 meters below the normal level of 74.20.
Water rationing in the west coast supplied by Primewater, however, started several days ago after a drop in the bulk water supply system in its source.
The schedule of water rationing was released by ZCWD on Sunday. Consumers were advised to check their social media page to know the schedule in their particular area.
Service areas not included in the water rationing schedule will have supply from its production wells and spring sources.
ZCWD advised consumers to keep stored water clean in covered containers. Keep discolored water as service resumes for non-drinking purposes.
Any further change in water services will be announced depending on its availability in the coming days.
