Over P100,000 worth of gadgets stolen in Binangonan robbery
Police arrested a 31-year-old man for robbing a gadgets store in Barangay Tayuman, Binangonan, Rizal, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) reported Monday, March 30.
The suspect, identified as "Exexel," allegedly entered through the backyard fence of the establishment on Eastridge Avenue and stole eight Samsung tablets worth P78,150, eight tablet covers worth P7,165, a LAN cable worth P8,500, an electric fan P2,500, and a UTP Cat6 copper cable worth P5,800.
The store owner immediately reported the incident, prompting the police to launch a hot-pursuit operation. Exexel was positively identified through the CCTV footage inside the store.
He was eventually arrested on Champica Street in the same barangay. Police also recovered the stolen items, valued at P102,115.
Further investigation revealed the suspect is a repeat offender who had previously been detained at the Binangonan Municipal Police Station for other crimes.
Police said Exexel will face robbery charges.
