ILOILO CITY – Sixteen gas stations temporarily closed in Western Visayas on Monday, March 30, after they ran out of fuel amid the ongoing Middle East war.
Data released by the Police Regional Office-6 said the impact of 16 temporary closures is minimal as there are a total of 860 gas stations in the region.
The provinces of Iloilo and Antique each have six gas stations that temporarily closed, three in Aklan, and one in the island-province of Guimaras.
The region remains to have the highest number of gas stations that temporarily closed in Visayas; 11 out of 672 in n Negros Island Region, eight out of 611 in Eastern Visayas, and one out of 590 in Central Visayas. Thirty-six out of the 2,733 gas stations are temporarily closed.
Police continue to monitor as part of their commitment to aid the Department of Energy (DOE) against fuel profiteering and hoarding.
