From newsroom to runway, Korean-Filipina model Su Jin Kim is forging a unique path of her own in the entertainment industry.
Juggling modeling, TV commercials, and hosting without missing a beat, Su Jin has established herself as one of the industry’s most versatile talents. At Couture Studio’s first anniversary celebration in BGC last February, she sat down to talk about her ambitions and everything she has planned for 2026.

"I started working as a reporter for two years, and then after that, I resigned last year, around September. In the meantime, I want to take a year to pursue pageant training and even return to modeling, since I used to be active. I previously worked with Adidas and Careline and had a movie appearance with Bela Padilla. I plan to restart in 2026. I hope to have more hosting and moderating jobs. Because I really specialize in business news and related topics. But I'm open to trying more lifestyle roles. Just being more adventurous with the projects that I take," Su Jin said.
Accolades in hand from her journalism days, Su Jin still found that crossing over into modeling demanded a whole new way of thinking — and a complete reinvention of her on-screen presence.
"Super different. Because reporting is very straightforward. And very straight to the facts. It's also very serious. And when you host events, it's super different. I have to be more metaphorical, more descriptive in the sense that it's more flowery than what I'm used to. Which I feel is a big transition for me. But I'm still learning," she said.
A new chapter with Aces & Queens
Fueled by a renewed love for the craft, Su Jin made a defining decision — stepping into the world of pageantry with Aces & Queens by her side.
"Aces and Queens, the ones who are training me, have been telling me or encouraging me to join Binibining Pilipinas. But for me, it's not in my cards yet because I don't have the financial resources to do pageants yet," Su Jin shared.
With a reputation built on producing some of the country’s most celebrated beauty queens, Aces & Queens sets a high bar — and Su Jin gave an honest account of just how demanding the process really is.
"I wouldn’t be surprised if their lineup turns out to be exceptional because our training is incredibly rigorous. We train twice a week, with full-day sessions on weekends. Just this past weekend, we had a 9-to-6 training, plus additional Pasarela and Q&A sessions. They really make sure to cover every aspect," She added.
Modeling is just one piece of the puzzle. Su Jin is steadily growing her footprint in mainstream media, diving into vlogging and content creation as she works to reach a broader audience.
When asked which celebrity she would love to collaborate with given the opportunity, Su Jin didn't hesitate — confidently naming "Kapamilya actor Donny Pangilinan."
Five years in the industry has a way of teaching you things no classroom can. Su Jin looked back on her time with Farah Models under Farah Ramos and the hard-won wisdom it has given her.
"Five years with Farah. I guess the biggest lesson is to really be open to years na wala kang jobs, tapos not to give up. Even if there are periods of lull, kasi may mga times talaga na you don't really get the job, and medyo sparse ang opportunities, but it doesn't mean naman na there are no opportunities. “And it's really to work hard in the sense, because I've been doing Farah Models camp for I think, three years na rin. So I think it's more about keeping, or passing the crown to the younger kids na rin, to the new faces, kasi for me it's more, it's more about being generous with opportunities, para it all comes back to you din (And it's really to work hard in the sense, because I've been doing Farah Models camp for I think, three years already.
