The Land Transportation Office-Region 1 inspected transport terminals and roads in the Ilocos region to ensure safety this Holy Week.
District offices in San Carlos, San Ildefonso, Naguilian, San Fernando, Dagupan, Agoo, Alaminos, Bayambang, Burgos, and Rosales inspected public utility vehicles, verified driver’s and conductor’s licenses, and checked registration documents to ensure compliance with transport laws.
The agency held roadside inspections and terminal monitoring with partner agencies, including the Philippine National Police (PNP). Help desks were also established to assist motorists and commuters.
Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials were distributed to promote responsible driving and road safety awareness.
These efforts were implemented under the guidance of Department of Transportation Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez, LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao and LTO-Region 1 Director Glorioso Daniel Z. Martinez and Assistant Regional Director Eric C. Suriben in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for a safe Holy Week travel.
