Drunk man slaps woman over loud voice, stabs drinking buddy in Makati
A man was arrested for stabbing his drinking buddy during a confrontation after the suspect allegedly slapped the victim’s live-in partner over her loud voice in Makati City on Thursday, March 26.
The Makati City Police Station said the incident occurred during a drinking session involving the suspect, identified as “Danilo,” the victim, “Zaldy,” and Zaldy’s live-in partner inside Laperal Compound in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo at around 3:45 p.m.
Personnel of Barangay Guadalupe Viejo reported the incident, prompting authorities to quickly dispatch a patrol motorcycle unit for immediate assistance and coordinate with the Makati Police Station Tactical Operation Center (STOC) for support from the Tactical Motorcycle Riders and SWAT Team.
Upon arrival at the scene, the authorities found the victim and promptly helped Barangay Guadalupe Viejo rush him to Ospital ng Makati.
Based on the initial investigation, during their drinking session, the suspect allegedly became angry with the victim's live-in partner due to her loud voice and, with no hesitation, slapped her.
The incident prompted the victim to confront the suspect and attempt to strike him. However, due to excessive alcohol, he lost his balance and fell during the altercation.
Police said that while the victim was on the ground, the suspect allegedly drew a weapon and stabbed him multiple times, hitting the left side of his ear before fleeing.
Authorities immediately conducted a swift hot pursuit, resulting in the arrest of the suspect around 4 p.m. the same day.
During a procedural body search, they recovered an ice pick, about nine and three-fourths inches long, including the handle, tucked in the back waist of the suspect’s denim shorts.
He is now in police custody and will face frustrated homicide charges.
