President Marcos has called on Filipinos to strengthen national unity through faith and selfless service as the country observes Holy Week.
“May this Holy Week strengthen our resolve to become a nation guided by faith, united in purpose, and inspired by selfless service,” the President said in his message.
Time for reflection
The President urged the public to pause and reflect during the sacred season.
He encouraged Filipinos to “take a moment for a brief pause, rest, and reflection” as they commemorate the Passion of Christ.
He added that the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ serve as a reminder of the true meaning of greatness.
“The Passion of Christ reminds us that true greatness is not found in power, but in sacrifice; not in privilege, but in service; and not in comfort, but in the courage to carry the burdens of others,” he said.
Call to serve others
President Marcos likewise called on Filipinos to renew their commitment to helping others, especially during difficult times.
He said Christ’s example should inspire people to face challenges “with humility, perseverance, and hope.”
“For in every act of compassion, every hand extended to those in need, and every sacrifice made for the good of others, we keep alive the spirit of His message,” he added.
Building ‘Bagong Pilipinas’
The President also urged unity in advancing the welfare of families and communities.
He said Filipinos must work together to build “a more compassionate and prosperous Bagong Pilipinas.”
Marcos ended his message by wishing the public a meaningful observance of Holy Week.
“I wish everyone a meaningful and blessed Holy Week,” he said.
