The pantry, which opened at 6:00 a.m., was organized to support drivers and commuters who have been heavily affected by soaring fuel prices due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Because of the large turnout, the Calumpit police, led by Lt. Col. Leo Estorque Jr., together with force multipliers, were deployed to maintain order and ensure smooth distribution.
Mayor Faustino emphasized that the initiative reflects the spirit of Bayanihan sa Bayan ni Juan, showing that unity and compassion remain strong in the community.
“The simple act of giving and receiving as needed proves that in unity, no one is left behind,” Faustino said.
The first batch of the pantry was successfully implemented, providing much-needed relief to drivers and commuters amid rising oil and commodity prices.
