From P-pop to the world stage: SB19 is ready to make every Filipino proud
SB19’s journey was never easy. In their early years, the group was frequently dismissed as mere copycats, facing harsh criticism and little support. Yet Pablo, Stell, Josh, Ken, and Justin refused to give up — anchored by their passion and an unshakeable love for what they do.

Eight years of grinding, believing, and refusing to settle have transformed SB19 into the undisputed kings of P-pop — a force that has resonated far beyond Philippine shores and carved their name on the global stage.
In a historic first for any homegrown Filipino act, SB19 is set to take the Lollapalooza 2026 stage — sharing the lineup with global heavyweights such as Charli XCX, Lorde, Tate McRae, Olivia Dean, and Jennie of BLACKPINK.
''Talaga po nang-gigil na kami, I mean meron po kami upcoming concert on April 18, sobrang ina-anticipate po namin yung performance namin for Lollapalooza. Sabi nga po ni Josh, ever since we started our career as artists, para ito po talaga yung pinaghahandaan namin, itong moment na ito na makapag perform sa Lollapalooza and show them how talented Filipinos are (We are beyond thrilled — with our concert on April 18 just around the corner, our excitement for Lollapalooza is at an all-time high. As Josh put it, from the very moment we stepped into this industry, this is the stage we have been working toward: performing at Lollapalooza and proving to the world just how talented Filipinos are)," said Pablo at the greoup's press conference held at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City on March 23.
Pablo added: ''Hindi ko po ma-imagine and ma-explain kung ano ang gagawin namin dun, pero for sure it's something all Filipinos would be proud of. Right now, syempre may mga pakulo kami pagdating sa music namin, the arrangements and mas matinding production just to show them kung ano talaga yung kaya namin. So sobrang excited and gigil na gigil na kami (Words can barely capture what we have in store, but one thing is certain — every Filipino watching will feel a surge of pride. We have been pouring everything into the music, the arrangements, and a production grander than anything we have done before, all to show the world the full extent of what SB19 is capable of. To say we are excited would be an understatement)."
Amid the whirlwind of preparations and upcoming performances, Josh was also asked to weigh in on a bigger question — whether the group has its sights set on a Grammy, the world's most prestigious award-giving body in music.
The members of SB19 - Josh, Ken, Justin, Pablo, and Stell - answer questions during a media conference.
"We're just very excited to show everyone what we're capable of, and for Grammys, of course, we will always be dreaming about it. Pero lagi pa rin kaming humbled na hindi namin masyado ine-expect na dadating lang siya, kailangan namin mag work hard. Ayun yung every day na tina-try namin syempre yung mga preparations namin especially for wakas at simula. Naniniwala kami na yung optimal work na ginagawa namin ngayon, kumbaga dahan-dahan darating din kami dun hindi kailangan ng isang viral moment lang, most important is yung steady kami (The Grammy dream is very much alive for us — but we stay grounded, knowing it is not something that simply falls into your lap. It has to be earned, day by day. That drive fuels everything we are pouring into Wakas at Simula right now. We believe consistent, purposeful work is what will get us there in the end — not a single viral moment, but a steady, unstoppable climb)," Josh said.
Charting a new direction with ‘Wakas at Simula’
From Pagsibol to Pagtatag and now to "Wakas at Simula," SB19's highly anticipated full-length album completes a creative trilogy — one that marks the closing of a defining era while throwing open the doors to an entirely new chapter.
"Basically, it’s a compilation of everything that we have released. Gusto namin siyang maging celebration ng milestone namin. At the same time, gusto namin sabihin kung ano yung direction na pupunta ng SB19 (This album is everything we have poured ourselves into, brought together in one place. More than a release, we want it to stand as a celebration of how far we have come — and a declaration of where SB19 is headed next)," Pablo said.
With "Wakas at Simula," which arrives on streaming platforms on March 27, the group describes a newfound sense of creative freedom — a willingness to take risks and trust their instincts rather than second-guess every decision.
"Our years of experience have given us the confidence to create and share what feels true to us, even as we continue to grow. This album also marks a new beginning — one where we hope to express ourselves more openly, explore deeper and more relatable themes, and move forward with clarity, care, and creative freedom, ready to face whatever comes next together."

The album also boasts high-profile collaborations that signal SB19’s growing international reach — teaming up with C-Pop queen Jolin, a household name across the Mandarin-speaking world, on "Emoji," and joining forces with Japanese group BE:FIRST on the dance-pop track "Toyfriend."
"With this kind of collaboration, unang-una, we're very happy and blessed na yung ganun na kalalaki na artists yung willing to collaborate with SB19. Kasi tulad nga po nung sinabi nila na ang taas ng pangarap namin, target talaga namin is yung mga big artists talaga pero ngayon na dumadating na sila syempre masasabi namin na ito na talaga yun. We're very happy na onti-onti namin na-aabot yung pangarap namin (To have artists of this caliber say yes to working with us — that means everything. People have always told us we were aiming too high, that the big names were out of reach. But here they are, and here we are. It is proof that the dream was never too big; we just had to keep going until it caught up with us)," Stell said.
Beyond the collaborations, the album spans a bold sonic spectrum. The R&B track "Memories" carries a quiet, understated elegance, while "Everblack" ventures into experimental, industrial territory — together reflecting the breadth of SB19’s influences and their willingness to push boundaries in both production and songwriting.
Rounding out the album are reimagined versions of tracks from their 2021 EP, Pagsibol. These re-recorded cuts are more than nostalgia — they reflect how far SB19 has come, with performances that are noticeably more intentional and personal, shaped by years of lived experience.

"When we first recorded them, we were coming from a place of hunger and hope, performing based on how we initially understood and absorbed the lyrics. Now, with more experience and perspective, the emotions naturally run deeper, and the lyrics carry greater meaning. It was not about changing the songs completely — but allowing them to grow with us," SB19 said.
To mark the album’s release, the group will headline the Wakas at Simula Concert on April 18, 2026, at the SMDC Festival Grounds — a grand finale to their Simula at Wakas tour, which accompanied the rollout of their three-part EP (Pagsibol, Pagtatag, and Simula at Wakas).
Though no world tour is planned, the group will take their music to North America, Europe, and the Middle East in the second half of the year, with appearances at major international festivals including Lollapalooza in Chicago, USA, and more dates still to be announced.
