BAGUIO CITY – Most bus companies serving this city have reduced regular trips by 30 percent in line with fuel conservation measures due to overseas conflict.
Police Lt. Col. James Allen Dogao, chief of the Baguio City Police Office-Traffic Enforcement Unit, said bus companies have increased their intervals to two hours or more per trip instead of the usual 30 minutes to an hour.
Dogao said bus companies assured that regular trips will resume if there is an increase in tourists wanting to visit this city during the Holy Week and summer vacation.
He noted there was a noticeable reduction in the number of private and public vehicles within and outside the city, resulting in improved traffic conditions around the central business district area.
Dogao said traffic personnel remain deployed in strategic locations around the city and vigilant in the performance of their assigned duties and responsibilities amid the significant improvement in traffic.
