POLICE help transport an elderly patient to the Rural Health Unit in Lacub, Abra.
LACUB, Abra – The Lacub Municipal Police Station helped transport an elderly patient to the Rural Health Unit here recently.
Police Executive Master Sgt. Marvin Vergara, deputy chief of police, in coordination with the local government unit headed by Mayor Estelita Bersamin, responded to a call for help from concerned family members and Punong Barangay Rheinhard Eduarte regarding a 72-year-old male resident experiencing difficulty in breathing.
The responding team immediately proceeded to Sitio Dugay, a remote area approximately two kilometers away from the nearest accessible road.
Police assessed the situation and carried the elderly patient using an improvised “buligan” to safely navigate the rugged path.
Police Patrolman Burnham Piliyen, with other responders, ensured the patient was transported with utmost care and urgency. The patient arrived at the Rural Health Unit and given medical attention and proper evaluation.
