SC cancels work in NCR trial courts at 2 p.m. March 26 due to transport strike
The Supreme Court (SC) suspended work in the trial courts in the National Capital Region (NCR) starting at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, due to the ongoing transport strike.
But the SC directed trial court judges to maintain “sufficient staff members to act on urgent requests for bail, orders of release, writs of habeas corpus, and similar urgent reliefs.”
It was not known as of posting time if work in NCR courts will also be suspended tomorrow, Friday, March 27.
The SC had earlier declared Fridays a work-from-home for judiciary officials and employees, except those from the Sandiganbayan and the Court of Tax Appeals.
However, at least 25 percent of the employees in each office or division should report onsite every Friday to ensure continuity of operations.
