Only vehicles weighing up to five tons are allowed on Kennon Road as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) cited ongoing safety risks along the route.
Heavy vehicles remain banned and are advised to use Marcos Highway as an alternate route, the agency said.
Authorities highlighted hazardous sections along Kennon Road, including the one-lane rockshed entrance from Baguio City and the temporary Acrow Bridge at Camp 2 with a 2.50-meter vertical clearance.
The critical Baguio City gateway has long been prone to landslides, rockfalls, and slope instability, prompting DPWH to impose controlled access and load limits to protect motorists and preserve road conditions.
Motorists are urged to strictly follow traffic and safety regulations, exercise caution, and plan alternate routes while the agency continues monitoring and implementing mitigation measures to ensure safe passage.
