It only took a few seconds—and a wide, uncontainable smile—for Shuvee Etrata to set parts of the internet ablaze.

Just recently, a viral clip dropped, showing her looking overly thrilled while being introduced to Donny Pangilinan, one half of the immensely popular DonBelle tandem with Belle Mariano.

Fans of the duo, called Bubblies, didn’t take it lightly. Accusations flew: “pa-cute,” too eager, some even went far as to suggest that she was trying to steal Donny’s attention.

Etrata, obviously used to such attacks, was unfazed. She simply laughed it off.

“Oo, nabasa ko rin yung mga comment, grabe! Just to be clear lang talaga, fan lang din ako nilang dalawa… sana huwag nila isipin yun dahil hindi naman ako ganun, tsaka wala pa ako sa level nila Donny and Belle,” she told us.

The incident highlighted something her rise has made clear. These days, Shuvee is popular enough to trigger a hoopla.

It’s almost hard to remember that she wasn’t always this visible. Just a few years ago, she was another TikTok creator, posting short videos with a handful of followers, quietly hoping to be noticed. 

Her big break came through “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition,” where she carved a memorable stay. That visibility opened doors: acting in “Hearts on Ice,” hosting “Unang Hirit,” and eventually landing a string of brand endorsements that earned her the nickname “Queen of Endorsements.”

“Ay! Grabe naman po yan,” she says of the moniker. “Pero siyempre thankful tayo. Grabe naman talaga ang blessings… kahit ako, hindi ko man inakala na marating ko ito.”

Bashers, she admits, were never far behind. At one point they almost succeeded in making her quit.

“Sobra talaga yung bashing… sabi ko ayoko na talaga.”

But she stayed.

“Andami ko nang napirmahan na kontrata… hindi puwede mag-quit,” she says with a laugh.

These days, her approach to criticism is simple: “Hinahayaan ko na lang. Hindi na yata mawawala yang ganyan lalo na sa industriya natin. Ang gagawin ko na lang talaga is magpakatotoo, kung ano talaga ako, then bahala na sila sa isipin nila.”
